  • Squire
A rank of twenty young soldiers drilled in one of the many ruined courtyards of Stromgarde. They were new to the Keepers, young and inexperienced. Most knew how to swing a sword, barely, and those who could use magic used it wildly, and without restraint. They needed guidance. Unfortunately for them, that guidance came in the form of the Master-at-Arms of the Keepers, one Aeldon Bernole.

He paced through the ranks of untrained soldiers, grasping the sword-arm of one Squire and changing the grip on her sword for better movement. He slapped another recruit's hand after an improperly cast spell. He finally made his way to the front of the group and sighed.

"Squires! Attention!" he shouted.

The Squires, on command, stopped their training and stood erect. Those who dropped their weapons or spell books at the sudden change discovered that small rocks were immediately lobbed at their heads.

"Let me introduce myself, Squires. I am your Master-at-Arms. That is all you need to know about who I am. Secondly, from this day forth, as new recruits in the Keepers of Stromgarde, whatever rights and privileges you had on the outside now belong to me, and my fellow Keepers...."

Many of the Squires looked at each other, worried, but their eyes quickly went back to the speaker when an unfortunate Squire was hit with another rock.

"Now, let me be clear. As Squires, you will not be given the full rights of true Keepers. You will not be able to access our supplies or banked resources. You will be required to assist any and all Keepers should they require aid, either on the front lines, or in their personal requests, should they ask...."

"But sir," a worried Squire began, suddenly unsure if he should have spoken.

"Yes, Squire?" Aeldon asked, rolling a pair of rocks around in his hand and narrowing his eyes.

"Well...sir...what if we are in the middle of something important, something from which we can't leave, without shaming ourselves or the banner?"

"Good question..." A sigh of relief came from the Squire. "If you are unable to break from your current activities, whatever they might be, you will not be required to report for assistance. However, if you are able, in any way, to lend assistance to another Keeper, or to defending the Keep itself, then you are required to do so."

The Master-at-Arms walked away momentarily, and returned with a chart with hastily written orders, requisitions, and daily tasks that needed completion.

"This, Squires, is my job. I am not teaching you how to fight. I am not here to coddle you until you think you're in a playpen. My job is to issue your tasks. Ten completed tasks are required before promotion to Keeperhood is even considered. Rarely, and I stress 'rarely,' do I make exceptions for exceptionally talented or worthy Squires. Though I will occasionally make requests for weekly requisitions for our supply caches, it will be your responsibility, Squires, to ask for tasks on a daily basis. Ask, and I will deliver. Sometimes it will be a request for supplies, or funds, or it will be necessary to deliver objects to Keepers in need of them. Other times, I will give you a task simply to amuse myself. Rarely do I not have something for you to do, and while sometimes it might seem meaningless, all that I ask will always have some meaning, even if it is to gauge your ability to follow orders."

"But sir...." another Squire ventured, "Are other Keepers able to give out tasks, if you are not around?"

"Yes. I gave an order that all Keepers are allowed to hand out tasks if they need assistance with their personal quests, or their individual jobs, or simply in the day-to-day grind and resource gathering. If you help them, and they deem it worthy, they will tell me of it and a task will be granted. I keep track of every single task issued, and every task completed...as well as every task failed..."

He eyes narrowed on several Squires in the crowd.

"The first task I issue you, Squires,"

The Squires stood even more at attention, ready to receive their first order.

"....is to take the night-watch patrols. Raise the alarm if you see Horde, Syndicate, or anything else getting near to our location. That is all."

He spun on his heel and left the courtyard, leaving the Squires behind to fend for themselves.

Squire

- Becoming a Squire, you should require:
    # Courtly etiquette - (RP knowledge and respect towards others)
    # Fighting Age - (Level 21 at least **Still being discussed**)
    # Official Request - (Filling the questionnaire and registering on the website)

TASKS:

- Tending the Calvary:
Stromgarde's Calvary is an important part of our army. Because our stables are currently "under maintenance" our regiment has trusted the keeping of our steeds to two different providers, Theramore and Stormwind. Your task is to travel to these stables and make sure our mounts are under good care.

- Feeding our Troops:
A good squire is handy in many trades, and one of them is cooking. The Squire of the table must be able organize and serve a feast honoring his superiors in any given time. Rejoice {name} for your time has come to prove your skills to the regiment. You must prepare and provide a stack of food to a Guardian.

- Arming our Troops:
Our troops are in constant need of weapons and armor to equip our new recruits. Sadly our last convoys have never reached their destination and we urge to have arm our new men. Therefore we're trusting you to travel to Theramore and get a few boxes of asorted gear. Since this surely will be a heavy package they must be transported by land. Another thing, whatever happens don't lose the shipment.

- Spreading the News:
We have sad news, old Jacob has passed away. He has been our courier for 15 years and now he's gone, yet the mail keeps coming. Something urgent has arrived and we need a big favour of you. We need you to deliver these special orders to {enter names here, it may include NPCs and/or PCs the guild or not}. Now hurry!

- Squiring:
    Very well {name}, let us see if you fit the job you've been assigned to. As a squire you must keep our men well armored and supported. A Keeper's bidding is your bidding, a Keeper's wish is your command. Now go and assist any Keeper {or higher} with their tasks {RP-PvP ones, and it may include PvE ones.}
