Great Keepers, noble and true. Warriors of light and justice. Protectors of the weak, guardians of ruin. For Stromgarde they fight, for Trollbane they die. For all Arathi, they are forever.
-Ode to the Keepers, translated from Old Arathi
Two rows of soldiers bearing the tabard of Stromgarde stood nobly before the great Keep of Stromgarde. Laid unseen were snipers, scouts, and rogues, flanking upon all sides, keeping the Syndicate away through fear of arrows and daggers. Upon the steps, the Guardians of the Keepers of Stromgarde, the Lord Commander in front, stood in the trappings of any of their fellow warriors. A Squire upon the Lord Commander's right would approach when called, kneel, and be taken through the sacred rite of promotion, given the blessings of the Lord Commander and the Guardians by the will of Prince Trollbane.
"Congratulations, newest Keepers," announced the Lord Commander, calling forth yet another Squire, "There will be challenges ahead for you all. You have completed the tasks laid before you by your superiors, and have shown your loyalty to Stromgarde and the Trollbane dynasty...."
The new Keeper stood and joined his brethren, and another Squire took his place.
"You have shown compassion for your fellow Alliance brothers and sisters and proven your determination to defend the weak fight the Horde. We know now that we, as a group, can depend on you for aid and support when we are in need, and that you, as an individual, will not require us as a crutch. You are independent, yet you are willing to be one among many...."
A new Keeper rose, and another Squire took their place.
"Though never think that your tasks are over, or that your Stromgarde's need of you is at its finale. Our borders close in upon us. Our knowledge is lost. Our enemies grow stronger and our allies grow distant. It is the duty of a Keeper to do more than protect what is left of our nation. They must fight our enemies with undying zeal, and protect our allies and friends from any harm..."
The new Keeper smiled, and joined their comrades. The Lord Commander commanded none of the other Squires to come forward, for they were not ready, and had not proven themselves. All before the Guardians saluted, and the Lord Commander spoke in a voice that carried far into the Keep.
"You new Keepers, you have many challenges before you. War and ignorance are two sides of the same evil we fight. The strong among you will become High Keepers, and the wise shall become Lorekeepers. The weak, likely, will fall in battle, and the greatest shall take their place at Lord Trollbane's side. You are capable of many great things, and we expect great things from you all. Fight with honor, wisdom, and courage, and nothing will ever defeat you, or break you. Fight for the honor of Stromgarde! Fight for the vengeance of Arathor!"
And in one voice, the call of the Guardians was heard, and returned with a roar:
"Honor and Vengance!"

Keeper Duties and Tasks
The Keepers of Stromgarde are the heart of this institution, they are the walking icons of this guild and as such they must emanate our ideals which follow a modern version of the Knights Code of Chivalry:
Justice: Seek always the path of 'right', unencumbered by bias or personal interest.
Prowess: Seek excellence in all endeavors expected.
Loyalty: Be known for unwavering commitment to the people and ideals you choose to live by.
Defense: Swear oath to defend your guild and those who depended upon it.
Courage: Make personal sacrifices in service of the precepts and people you value.
Faith: Have faith in your beliefs and in your guild.
Humility: Value first the contributions of others; do not boast of your own accomplishments.
Largesse: Be generous in so far as your resources allow.
Nobility: Seek great stature of character by holding to the virtues and duties.
Franchise: Seek to emulate our rules and laws as sincerely as possible.
TASKS:
- Patrol the borders:
Due to the recent threat on Prince Trollbane, our scouts have reported that horde activity has increased throughout Azeroth. With this information the Keepers of Stromgarde have provided thier troops to aid the patrols of additional lands sorrounding Stromgarde (Alterac, Hillsbrad, Silverpine and even Tirisfal Glades).
- Secure the Keep:
Prince Galen has sent word and issued a help request to all spare Keepers. You're to report to Captain Nials at Refuge Pointe and assist her on patrol duties following the Calvary to Stromgarde Keep and dispatching any threat you may find on your path. Once at the Keep slay everyone who might pose a threat.
- Protect the Weak and Defenceless:
As a Keeper of Stromgarde you are bound to protect and defend those who cannot do so by themselves. Therefore it is up to you to provide the weak a helping sword in dire times. Stay alert for their cries of distress in the region of Arathi Highlands and beyond.
- Tournament:
There isn't greatest honor for a Keeper than be allowed to participate in tournaments. As a Keepers it is your duty to represent your colors in every available battle event organized. That shall not only bring you fame, but also respect of your fellow Keepers. Now arm yourself and prove your valor.
A Squire must the following qualities before they will be considered for Keeper:
# The Code of Chivalry - (Active RPer)
# The Rules of Service - (Have completed at least 10 tasks)
# Horsemanship - (Have a Horse)
# The use of weapons - (Mark of the Alliance)
# Keepers have to develop strength, speed, dexterity and leadership skills - (Initiative and success on running events/dungeons)
An Example Quest for Keeperhood:
A good Squire, besides having the mentioned qualities, must also count with climbing skills, athletics and swimming skills (important in situations which related to a castle siege.) He must also learn bravery and the ability to withstand extremes in cold and heat, tiredness and hunger...
Therefore a batch of Squires should be able to run (by foot) from the icy lands of Dun Morogh, through the swamps of the Wetlands, across the savage lands of our Arathi Highlands, into Hillsbrad and up the river into Alterac Mts. wearing nothing but their tabard. Of course a superior will follow the trek and support them case it's needed. |
